thuongIn order to develop and improve the quality of human resources and build elegant and civilized Hanoi citizens in the period 2021-2025, Hanoi Metropolitan University, in coordination with the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, organized a conference to summarize the training courses on Hanoi Studies for general education teachers in Hanoi.
thuongThe Hanoi Studies training course is part of the implementation plan for the project "Training in Hanoi Studies for general education teachers in Hanoi City in the period 2021-2025, with orientation to 2030 and vision to 2045". This project is under Program No. 06-CTr/TU of the Hanoi City Party Committee on "Developing culture, improving the quality of human resources, building elegant and civilized Hanoi people in the period 2021-2025". The Hanoi Studies training courses were implemented from July to October 2024 with the participation of more than 5,000 teachers from general education schools in Hanoi City. After 3 months of implementation, the training courses have completed all the content according to the plan and ensured quality.
thuongAccording to Dr. Do Hong Cuong, Rector of Hanoi Metropolitan University, the university has recently collaborated with the Hanoi Department of Education and Training to organize training courses on Hanoi studies for teachers in 30 districts, counties, and towns. The aim is to equip teachers with the most basic knowledge of geography, history, culture, urban planning, etc., of Hanoi, thereby disseminating this knowledge to students in the area. The university has also invited experts, scientists, skilled managers, and dedicated lecturers with excellent expertise to participate in teaching.
The organizing committee awarded certificates of merit to 217 outstanding students
thuongAccording to Mr. Do Hong Cuong, the Hanoi City Party Committee continues to assign the Hanoi Metropolitan University and the Hanoi Department of Education and Training the task of introducing Hanoi Studies into the curriculum of schools. This is a very honorable but also very challenging task; its success largely depends on the joint efforts of Hanoi's educators, especially those in management positions at the schools.
thuongHanoi Metropolitan University always recognizes that general education is crucial in training the younger generation for the country. The young generation of Hanoi needs to understand the people and the thousand-year-old cultural heritage of the capital city. The task of teachers, besides teaching knowledge, is also to instill in the hearts of the young generation of Hanoi a sense of pride, aspiration, and responsibility to contribute as citizens of Hanoi to building a cultured, civilized, and modern capital city. Therefore, incorporating knowledge of Hanoi studies into schools is absolutely essential, with the initial stage focusing on equipping teachers—who are considered the "main engine" for disseminating knowledge about Hanoi to students—with this knowledge.
thuongThe school hopes that in the future, the city will adopt a policy to include Hanoi Studies in the curriculum of schools to create a legal basis for teacher training, meet job requirements in schools, and provide a foundation for Hanoi Capital University, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, and experts to develop a systematic and unified curriculum and learning materials on Hanoi Studies across all educational levels. This will help teachers and students easily access the fundamental issues of Hanoi, aiming for the ultimate goal of building elegant and civilized Hanoi citizens.
thuongMs. Nguyen Dieu Anh, Principal of Tran Nhat Duat Primary School (Hoan Kiem District) and also a participant in the Hanoi Studies training course, said that organizing the course in a hybrid format (in-person and online) allows participants to be proactive and flexible in accessing the course. The content of the training helps teachers improve their understanding of Hanoi's history and culture, while also acquiring many new skills. The experiences gained during the course were an exciting and meaningful journey of discovery, helping educators not only expand their knowledge and skills but also nurture and spread love and pride for Hanoi, a city with a thousand years of cultural heritage, contributing to instilling a love for Hanoi in younger generations.
